After 33 years in business – and almost 18 years trading at 237 Cuba Street – it is with very mixed feelings that I have decided to close Minerva – and retire.

I would like to salute you, our brilliant Minerva customers, for making this shop the place it has become. Thank you all for shopping here.

So, what does this mean for you, our wonderful Minerva customers?

• Our last day of trading is Saturday 28 February 2026.
• On Monday 2 February, we will begin our closing sale, so be in quick if you want the best choice. All sales are firm sale, no refunds or exchanges. If you are out of town or can’t pop in, please shop online.
• A few magazines and special order books are still due from overseas so we will send these out as soon as they arrive – note: these will not be discounted.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Valid gift vouchers can be redeemed instore until 28 February 2026. If you have a valid voucher and do not find anything you wish to purchase, pop in or email [email protected] with the voucher number and your bank account details and we will arrange a refund.

If you are not able to make it instore to redeem your voucher and wish to shop online, please email [email protected] with the voucher number and value and we will create a code for you to use online.

In store pickup

For those local, we offer a free pickup in store option within our opening hours. When your order is ready for collection we will notify you by email. Orders are usually ready within 2 hours.  

New Zealand

We ship nationwide with CourierPost, target delivery is overnight to urban areas. Please add 1-2 days for rural delivery or at peak holiday times.

Once your order has been packed, we will email you with tracking details.  Please note, we are not responsible for any delivery delays once your order has been collected from our store.

All orders placed before noon (weekdays) will be shipped on the same day. Weekend orders will be shipped on the next business day.

Returns

We have a 7-day return policy on all full priced items, please contact us by email on [email protected] or phone us instore 027 2088818 to start your return.

No returns or exchanges can be offered on magazines or sale items. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in its original packaging.

Return shipping will be at your own cost. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return cannot be accepted.

Damages and issues

We use robust waterproof packaging to ensure that your purchase is protected in transit but accidents happen so please check your order and contact us immediately if the item is damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so we can rectify this.
